The Seattle Mariners have designated right-hander Chris Flexen for assignment, the club announced Tuesday.
The move made room for right-hander Trevor Gott to be re-instated from the injured list.

According to Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times, the Mariners have seven days to trade, release or outright Flexen. His contract doesn’t allow Seattle to option him to the minor leagues, so he can opt out and elect free agency.
The New York Mets selected Flexen in the 14th round of the 2012 MLB Draft and he made his major-league debut in 2017. That year, he appeared in 14 games with nine starts for. A 7.88 ERA. The next two years combined he had 13 game appearances with two starts. His career ERA as a Met in 68 innings from 2017-2019 was 8.07.
He was designated for assignment in 2019 and a day later signed a one-year deal with KBO’s Doosan Bears. He had a 3.01 ERA with the Bears in 2020.
Flexen, 28, returned to America and signed a two-year deal with the Mariners in 2021 that had an option for 2023. Between 2021 and 2022 he posted a 3.66 ERA, and was considered in offseason trade talks before the Mariners decided to keep him for rotation depth, according to MLB Trade Rumors.토토총판
